During 2011, the Federal office of statistics has begun to work to fid a unique and unitary identification number for companies practicing economic activities in Switzerland (IDI number)
The IDI allows our company to identify ourselves for any contact with public administration.

The IDI number benefits the effectiveness of the collaboration between firms and public administration.

To consult the IDI, the Federal Office of statistics makes available to the public a central registry of firms, which includes 750,000 firms, all of them are active and inscribed in the registry of commerce.
The IDI will progressively substitute the identifying factors that where used until now in the public administration, such as the VAT number or the number assigned to us in the old register of commerce.

The old VAT number could be utilized until the end of the year 2013.
